The company was founded by the Giro family in 1835 in Vilanova I la Geltru, a small coastal village which is located 30 miles south of Barcelona in Spain.Since its creation and through the mid-20th century, business activity has essentially centred around the beverage industry.

In the 1940s the company starded gaining its subsequent decades of experience in the production and distilling of spirits, specifically gin and was behind the launch of one of the first gins produced in Spain.Thanks to decades of history and knowledge in this production and distillation of spirits, MG DISTILLERIES has both great recognition and prestige within Spain and in the export markets in which it is present.
